Pediatric Fillings

If Dr. Anya finds cavities during her examination of your child’s tooth, she may recommend a filling be placed to protect the tooth from further decay. Our team will take digital x-rays of your child’s teeth and the doctor will review these images as well as conduct a tooth by tooth evaluation of their mouth. As long as the area of decay is not too large, Dr. Anya will treat it with a simple white filling. These fillings are typically a composite resin material that is placed on the tooth after the decay has been removed by the doctor. This material will then be hardened using a special light and the filling will then be adjusted to allow your child to bite comfortably.

Dr. Anya and her team will work their best to make each visit comfortable and offer many options to your child to help reduce their anxiety. In addition to being patient and coaching your child through appointments, other treatment options offered are nitrous gas (laughing gas), oral sedation, as well as general anesthesia. Dr. Anya will discuss all appropriate options and come to a decision together with you on the best way to meet the needs of your children.
